If Dogs Could Sing is an album of songs written from dogs’ points of view. Some are funny, some are poignant, but all are 100 percent DOG.
Half of the proceeds from the album go to help rescue dogs in a number of ways, from helping with adoption fees to assisting with medical bills. As we help fund success stories, we will post them on our news page.
George (Geo) Lenker is a writer, musician, and vegan who is committed to dog rescue efforts. His own beloved cairn terrier TJ is a rescue whom Geo saved one day before he was going to be put down. Geo was going through some very hard times of his own when he saw the posting about TJ’s desperate situation, so he likes to say, “TJ saved me as much as I saved him. Probably more.”
The song subjects range from chasing squirrels and toilet-bowl quaffing to finding a forever home and crossing Rainbow Bridge—in other words, the great range of motions and emotions dogs provide us.
For one example, check out this animated video that Geo created for the song Don’t Be Mad, in which a young puppy pleads his case for patience as he tries to learn how to please his person:
